Tiered Penny Auctions

We just added a new style of bidding called "Tiered Penny Auctions". The main difference between this and other auction types is that the number of bids placed will depend on how many seconds are remaining on the timer. This type of bidding will allow bidders to use more strategy to win auctions.

You can tell which auctions are Tiered Penny Auctions because they have a   Tiered   icon shown on the auctions listings as well as the auction details page.

Here's how it works...

As shown below, based on the number of seconds left, every time you click "Bid" it will place the corresponding amount of bids:

45+ seconds:1 bid
15-44 seconds:2 bids
1-14 seconds:3 bids

Auto-bidders will still only place 1 bid at a time no matter how many seconds are remaining on the clock. Of course, if there are two or more auto-bidders, they will battle it out with a bidding war. As always, a war will result in each auto-bidder placing up to 5 bids every few seconds. This is no change from our standard auctions.

As you can tell, it's very advantageous to be in the auto-bidder position since you will only place 1 bid at a time while the bidder waiting until the last second will spend 3 bids per click. In addition, many bidders will probably avoid bidding at the last second and therefore when you see 3, 2, 1 on the clock you are extremely likely to win.

If you are a more cautious bidder and want to spend the least amount of bids possible, you can time your bids to reduce how many bids you place.

Increase your chance of winning today by mastering this new auction style.
